Happy Canada Day – A Message of Hope
I wanted to wish my Constituents, Albertans, and all Canadians a Happy Canada Day! Today marks Canada’s 153rd birthday since this beautiful nation signed Confederation in 1867.
For me, Canada Day is a day of gratitude. There have been so many individuals, groups, and Canadians in general who have made this country special, and today we honour everything those before us have done in shaping the Canada we have today.
Whether it is the First Nations people who first arrived on this sacred land, or the founders of Confederation who solidified Canada’s existence as a sovereign nation, Canada has many people to thank as we celebrate everything that Canada embodies.
Canada, Our Proud Nation
Canadians are proud people, and there are a lot of elements of Canada to take pride in.
Canada is a prosperous and optimistic nation that has been able to create many opportunities for its people. Opportunities that have allowed Canadians to build the lives they desire and want for their families.
Canada is nation that values its democracy and the principles that underpin the foundation of Canadian society. The enshrinement of fundamental rights and freedoms like freedom of conscience and thought, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of association, and many other freedoms that make Canada the democratic nation we love and cherish.
Canada Needs Our Effort
However, none of these freedoms in Canada would be possible without the devoted efforts of our armed forces, which make it possible for Canadians to enjoy the freedoms we speak so highly of.
Every day, no matter where Canada’s Armed Forces are deployed, they are fighting for Canadians and the freedoms we enjoy as our freedom would not be possible without their committed efforts.
I hope that all of my Constituents, all Albertans, and all Canadians take a moment on this very special day, to recognize the efforts of our armed forces. Celebrations like today would not be possible without the brave men and women who put their lives on the line everyday, so Canadians can enjoy moments like this.
Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there who call this magnificent country home.
Best Regards,
